Family Update

First of all I haven't posted in like forever! I haven't got any excuse, none what-so-ever. Well, what have we done??? Phil has settled in fine! It was his birthday last Monday so Patrick him and Adam went to laser quest and spent an hour shooting red beams in a dark room. I personally do not see the point. It must be a guy thing. Carys and I sat at home making messes with paint and play dough! Carys had her first real play with play dough two weeks ago. She got the hang of rolling it out and cutting shapes out of it. I can't remember when Adam started playing with it but play dough is like his favourite thing! Best recipe that I have found so far is 1 cup flour, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup salt, 2 tsp cream of tartar, and 2 tbsp oil. Mix it all together in a saucepan over medium/low heat until it gets play doughy.

Adam is off of school this week and next for Easter holiday. He says his prayers every morning. Or at least tells me he does. We had a mud party here at the house on Thursday. I didn't take any pictures of it sorry! It has been so wet and rainy that the garden(yard) is all boggy. The kids were over and wanted to play so they tracked through it all day! Even Carys!

I was accepted into LJMU for social work to start September. I was also accepted into Chester, I never thought I would have a choice. I still have interviews with North Wales next week.

We are going to Margaret's (mum-in-law) tomorrow. We'll be staying for a few days. Patrick has to work in London Monday/Tuesday so we are all going down. Margaret is going to babysit Monday night and we are going to head off into the city for a night on the town. It will be the first EVER that both Patrick and I have been slept somewhere without the Carys! Patrick has been away.. and I've been away.. but its always either one or the other. Last time was when Adam was 18months and we went to Malta for a weeks vacation. Crazy isn't it. You have kids and the kids are your life. I'm not complaining I would not change it for the world. I love the time I get to spend and the things I do with the kids. Even those mum, mum, mum., mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum, mum moments. Every mother wants their child to start saying 'mum' as their first word. PLEASE let them say 'dad' instead. Because you hear a whole Lotta mum. mum. mum when they start to grow. Why is the kids never go around asking for dad, dad, dad, dad , dad, dad, dad, dad, dad!

We are off to play tennis this morning. I have challenged Adam to a match. Me and Carys vs Adam. I have a very strong feeling Adam will win!

Sorry

I have gone awhole week without updating my blog. Sorry. Your probably thinking that after all my complaining htat no one i reading it I would be more regular with posts wouldn't you?

Whats happened kiddie wise this last week? Here are some pictures. Adam making an Easter card, Carys and Adam watching 'Homersapien' in action, Adam reading his sister a book!

Carys looks adorable in my old clothes doesn't she? This little blue dress is one of her dresses that I wore as a toddler. She looks liek she just stepped off the prairie! It is a little big but she didn't mind!

Adam and I sat down to make easter cards, he has such Imagination! His card ended up being a 3-d creation whose relation to Easter can only be explained as an Abstract Interpretation!

Adam is doing better at school. This has really worried me. He doesn't like to read, he gerts littel joy from it. He loves to be read stories and lieks looking at books for the pictures but he doens't seem to want to read them. He prefers to make up his own stories about what is happening, which is of course really good because it shows he can think on his own. Patrick and I are such BIG readers. It really stings that he is not so hot on reading as we are... I should really give the kid a break.... he is only 6! On the other hand he loves Maths and Science, so there is a trade off. He is making progress with his tutor although they mostly work on times tables and play darts and roll dice.... but I'm surte he knows what he is doing!

Carys is due to get her next immunisation, she will be starting her MMR. She is really late with this as they asked us not to get her innoculated while they investigated her JXG (juvenile xanthogranuloma), just in case the problems withher skin were as a result of her previous ones. So off we go to the Doctor on Monday!

We are making gingerbread bunnies again this morning. It is so easy and a great timewaster!!! We'll be taking some next door to Jackie as an excuse to check up on her. Mom and Cessie you'll remember her, she has gone downhill and I haven't seem her or Charlie for DAYS! She got annoyed at me the other week for knocking on her door for like 5 minutes because she didn't answer. She was still asleep at 2 in the afternoon! They have become the crabby old couple on the street(they are gaining a reputation!) , the ones that kids make up stories about.. 'You better watch out or she'll....' , 'You can't let them see you or you'll get teh death stare!' It doesn't help that all the kids congregate on our front garden peeping through the bushes to hers!

Cooking aroudn the world: Adam and I made fresh Pizza!! Now we are not professional pizza throwers but we had a go, and created some fantastic new shapes which we WILL be introducing to Pizza Hut!
My blodgger is not my friend .!!!! It keeps refusing to lof this post and I've had to do it again!
